Top five maternity yoga and chillout pants

Although we loved showing off our bumps in the latest maternity fashions there were times when we just wanted to kick off our shoes, take off those jeans and slip into our slobs for a night on the sofa

During times like this it may be tempting to resort to wearing your other half's tracksuit bottoms when your trusty non-maternity ones don't fit, but let's face it, it isn't the most glam look.

And if you plan to take part in some gentle exercise classes during your pregnancy, then they may not be the most suitable.

Thankfully there is a huge range of maternity yoga and chillout pants on the market, which are not only extremely reasonably priced, but also designed to fit and support your bump during that gentle workout or for those nights chilling on the sofa.

Their design also means you can wear them post pregnancy on those first lazy days in, or after a c-section. Pair up with a simple vest top and maternity hoodie or sweatshirt for that sporty -chic look.

Below are our top five.

ASOS Yoga Pants, £15

Mothercare Yoga Pants £20.

Maternity harem pants £12.99, Bonprix

Vertbaudet Maternity Yoga trousers, £17.50 La Redoute

Maternity Basic Yoga Pant, £10, Matalan

Jenna Dewan-Tatum asks Twitter follows to be kind about people's maternity fashion choices

She may be one of the luckiest women in the world, but it seems pregnant Jenna Dewan-Tatum hasn't lost her humility.

The wife of Channing Tatum who is expecting her first child, has taken to Twitter to ask people to be "kind" to pregnant women, urging them not to focus too much on how much weight they have gained or their maternity fashion sense.

There doesn't seem to be a trigger to the comments- after all we can't see anyone criticising Jenna's maternity style.

However, she could be referring to the criticism of fellow pregnant celebrity Kim Kardashian who hasn't had an easy time with her maternity fashion choices of late.

Bargain maternity fashion item of the day: Matalan light wash maternity jeggings

Maternity fashion doesn't have to be expensive, and scouring the virtual highstreet for cheeky sales and bargain items is one of our fave pastimes.

Today, we're extremely pleased with ourselves for spotting these gorge light wash jeggings from Matalan that come in at a cool £10.

Not only are they bang on trend and give the comfort you'd find in leggings, but also perfect for yummy-mummies-to-be who want to give a nod to the denim trend without investing in a pair of expensive maternity jeans.

Team them up with a floral tee and pair of sandals for a daytime look or go for a sheer maternity blouse and brave a pair of heels for that night out.

We have a feeling they won't be hanging around for long.

Bette Midler offers Kim Kardashian maternity fashion advice. Do you think that she needs it?

Let's be honest, Kim Kardashian hasn't had the easiest ride from fashion critics when it comes to her maternity style.

And although we love the reality star we have to agree that some of her bump outfits have been a little bit hit and miss. A few examples being the leather skirt she recently squeezed into and the peplum trousers she opted for earlier this year.

However, it now seems she's found an unlikely fashion Fairy Godmother in the form of Bette Midler.

According to The Sun, the 67 singer decided to send a not to subtle hint to Kim over Twitter claiming: “I know it’s so last week, but @KimKardashian would look adorable in the maternity clothes they have just on my block!! I buy them myself!!”

And it seems Kim may have taken up the offer, Tweeting back that the pair should hit the shops together.

We're not sure if it will ever happen but we'd love to see what styles she'd be channelling if the pair ever got together.

Do you agree that Kim needs a little bit of maternity fashion advice or do you like her unique style?

Leave your comments below and let us know and keep reading for our thoughts on what Kim should be wearing to really show off her bump.

Maternity nightdresses: How to pick one and our top five faves

Maternity nightdresses probably aren't at the top of your list when you first find out you're pregnant.

Afterall, if you're like us then you'll have a huge range of baggy nightwear taking up space in your wardrobe, which can act as a temporary cover for your bump.

However, as you get bigger and bigger you may find that the baggy nightdress is becoming a little bit tight, and that means one thing- it's time to invest in a maternity nightwear number.

To ensure you stay as comfy as possible opt for a maternity nightdress that is stretchy enough to grow with your bump but also won't lose elasticity and shape when it goes through the wash.

If you tend to be experiencing a change in body temperature as a result of your pregnancy, or you're planning to wear this when giving birth then opt for a natural fibre such as cotton, which is breathable and will keep you cool during those night time hot flushes and throughout labour.

We've picked out some of our faves on the virtual highstreet in the gallery below, and keep reading for our finds on the best maternity PJs and nursing nightwear later on in the month.
